Week 1
Day 1
For the first day, I decided to have a simple an easy start. So I only did 2 activities.
- Play with some Duolingo for 30 min for easy.
- Also 30 minutes of Anki, trying to remember some kanjis.
Day 2
The second day I continued the trend from before, but I tried to add some extra ‘immersion’.
- Duolingo for 15 min.
- Anki for 30 min, trying to get that vocabulary back on track.
- Setting some subtitle free Japanese shows for the rest of the time.
Day 3
Third day, similar repetition, but this time slightly more involved.
- Duolingo for 10 minutes
- Anki for 30 min. Some of the words start to get back into my brain.
- The rest of the time I reviewed the first lesson of N4. Event that it is the simplest, I barely could remember what was happening. I hope i can improve upon it later.
Day 4
The fourth day was a quick struggle. I had to do other stuff, so I basically rushed stuff, but I was able to complete the time.
- Duolingo 10 min
- Anki for 30 min. This seems to be a standard by now.
- I decided to practice some of the early N5 kanji properly to get them drilled in my muscle memory.
Day 5
This was one of the most productive of all.
- Duolingo 10 min as usual
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day.
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book
- I found you can watch card captor sakura on Netflix with japanese subtitles, great for some immersion use.
Day 6
Due to several issues outside my control, I had to reduce my day to the basic, as it took me longer than I expected.
- Duolingo as usual
- Anki completing my decks of the day.
Day 7
Today was a simple day, due to the situation of yesterday.
- Duolingo as usual
- Anki completing my decks of the day.
Day 8
Today it was more of a productive day for the duolingo part, but also able to repeat the productivity as two days ago.
- Duolingo 20 min. Tons of experience
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 4.
- Watched more Card captor sakura.
Day 9
I spend quite the time doing duolingo today due to being laundry, so some time to kill. But more or less was similar than yesterda.
- Duolingo 30 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 5.
- Watched more some Blue period, although not paying attention.
Day 10
- Duolingo 30 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 6.
Day 11
- Duolingo 10 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 7 part 1
Day 12
- Duolingo 10 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 7 part 2
- I started watching Ranma 1/2 with japanese subs
Day 13
- Duolingo 10 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 8 part 1
Day 14
- Duolingo 10 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 8 part 2.
Day 15
- Duolingo 30 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji..
- Watched more some Blue period, although not paying attention.
Day 16
- Duolingo 30 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji.
- Watched more some Blue period, although not paying attention.
Day 17
I decided that today I will just do Duolingo completing 1 full section, like 5-7 lessons, which depending on the lesson it could be 10-30 min.
- Duolingo.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji.
Day 18
- Duolingo 30 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 10 cards
- I did some more kanji, and also review some grammar for the N4 book, reviewing Lesson 5.
Day 19
Today it was different, finally we are back from the break, and I started back with a my private Japanese teacher. So it is a full hour. We did:
- Questions I had from the holiday study.
- I found hard to grasp and use the concept of ~たまま.
- We started part of the kanji for N4 lesson 4.
Day 20
Due to some stressful thoughts I just did basic stuff.
- Duolingo 30 min.
- Anki completing the decks I had set for the day and doing extra 30 cards
Update
I thought I could keep the update constant at a daily or weekly summary, but it became too consuming. So I will aim for a Montly summary, and if the time allows it a weekly summary.
Month summary
I kept the 1 hour practice going during the month. Even with some busy days, but it has been useful. For February I will have a new place so I hope I will have more time.
