At the plains of madness 2021
As every year this is again, I prepare an entry for Halloween, and this year has not been different. Although, usually there is more action, but given the current situation it was quite slow paced compared with other years.
The List
Just with October, it is the list of movies. Every year I watch 31 horror movies, and some times with a theme. This years theme was Lovecraftian, so the majority of the movies are Lovecraftian in nature.

- Nekrotronic (2014) – Dead on arrival…
- The thing (1982) – Yes, I finally finished…
- Snakes on a plane (2006) – snakes…on…a…plane…
- The Dooms of Chapel Horror (2016) – skip to the end…

- The Pickman Model (2018,2021?) – Happy clouds need friends…
- Little Evil (2017) – Parks and Rec the fostering…
- Uzumaki (2000) – Another one surprisingly good…
- Hobo with a gun (2011) – Hahaha…
- Annihilation ( 2018) – of course, aliens…
- Vampires vs the Bronx (2020) – Do not mess with the Bronx…
- Dagon (2001) – Did he kissed his sister?…

- Virgin Witch (1972) – wait what? so much plot…
- The Call of Cthulhu (2005) – Ending with the master himself…
This year there were not three at the end, but it has todo more with the timing than anything.
The Party
Every year I choose a party to attend for Halloween, but this year was limited by the world pandemic and I had to do a solo party, but I had my costume ready…
This is just to bring memory from when I disguised as octagon during carnival as child. It is a shame that there was no party to go and be the soul of the party.

This year many things happened, and it was a very difficult month, but I hope the next will be more comfortable and going full on costume for everyone to enjoy!

On…
March 15th 1937, H. P. Lovecraft left this world, but this is only momentarily. As he wrote once:
“That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.”-“The nameless city”, H. P. Lovecraft.

The Lurking Fear( Español )

The Lurking Fear (English)
Welcome back!
As several of you might know, the last 20 of August was H. P. Lovecraft birthday, so I considered to be more adequate to write this month entry in relation with him. Furthermore, the entry comes in two languages(Español). I hope everyone forgives me for the irregularities between both.
First, it has been quite a while since the last time I wrote an entry like this, but here I come again. In principle, it should have been published on Monday, but real life do not let me have fun. In addition, the only reason for this entry to be in two languages is for the few people that reads my blog in English, I know of only one, do not feel bad and can be some comparison. Now here comes the review.
The Lurking Fear
The story describes an unknown narrator, which is a reporter, visiting a mountain region where there has been several rumours and attacks from an unknown beast. A month earlier to his arrival, an storm destroyed a big area of the region.
During the development of the investigation, the narrator finds information about the Martense family which is surrounded by rumours and legends. He decides to investigate this and comes in contact to the horror caused by a mysterious creature which lurks in the surroundings and is behind of the destruction in the region. He founds the mystery of the Martense family and the horror they brought with them to the place where he find himself involved.
The story is described at a smooth pace, and it allows the reader to uncover little by little the different horrible mysteries.
A film?!
A while ago, actually a year ago, I found in a charity shop a film called “The Lurking Fear”. I read the description, and I understood this was a film based in Lovecraft story, so I bought it and watched it.
The movie by itself is not bad, is horrible! The story is loosely based, and loosely do not start to describe it. Unless your are a fan of crappy movies, like me, you can watch it for a laugh or a cry for its bad execution, but if you try to actually watch a good Lovecraftian movie, it is a waste of time.
Download
Well, this should include a download, but in English there is so much material, that I only include a link to the The H. P. Lovecraft Archive:
